Port services are the provision activities of general interest that are developed in the service area of the port, being necessaries for their correct exploitation, in conditions of safety, effectiveness, efficiency, quality, regularity, continuity and non-discrimination.
Port services are classified into general services, whose provision is restricted to the Port Authority, and BASIC SERVICES that are provided on competitive regime, subject to the provisions of Law 48/2003 of 26 November, of financial regime and of provision of services of the general interest ports, for the pilotage service.
